15 Jun 09:00 - 16:00 - Vila Nova de Gaia
Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal
Take the chance to enjoy beautiful Porto and it's close by town Vila Nova de Gaia where this 15k race takes place. The 4th edition of Corrida Portucale also offers a 5k distance which you can choose to either walk or run and for the small once - there is a kids race!
The name of the race comes from the ancient town and port, Portus Cale situated in close by Porto in the Grande Porto area. The name of the town eventually influenced the name of the subsequent country Portugal.
It's easy to fly to Porto from most large and some small airports around Europe. The summer in July is usually great and Porto is a city to do a lot of exploring in, eat delicious seafood, try out the local speciality francesinha or simply walk around and get lost in its beautiful cobblestoned streets.
If you want to make a road trip out of it you can also continue further up North after finishing the Corrida Portucale and enjoy some of the picturesque coastal towns. Rent a house by the ocean or stay in a cosy local bed and breakfast. Beautiful nature, kind people and truly idyllic.
